Brian Fallon, MD, MPH
Dr. Brian Fallon directs the Lyme and Tick-borne Diseases Research Center and the U.S. Lyme and TBD Clinical Trials Network at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Fallon completed his undergraduate work at Harvard College and his MD and MPH at Columbia University. Dr.Fallon is a professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University where he has conducted numerous studies on OCD, anxiety disorders, and the neuropsychiatric aspects of Lyme disease.
Recent and current research includes epidemiologic studies of suicide after Lyme disease and clinical trials for patients with persistent symptoms using neuromodulatory devices to improve cognition and reduce pain and fatigue (e.g. vagus nerve stimulation, transcranial direct current stimulation with cognitive retraining.) In addition to many research articles, Dr Fallon is co-author with Dr. Sotsky of Conquering Lyme Disease: Science Bridges the Great Divide (Columbia Univ Press, 2017).
